This is software that lets you convert WMA tracks to MP3 and vice versa.

Free WMA MP3 Converter is a FREE, fast and straightforward audio converting utility that converts between WMA and MP3 formats. The tag information can easily be transferred to the converted file. You can do all that in a batch for a bunch of files at one time. The program has been built to take advantage of the multi-core and the multi threading processors. So that, if you have one in your machine, the program would speed up significantly. The interface makes it easy to use. In the main display area you use the controls to create a list of files you are going to convert. Once the conversion is started another page opens up that has two progress bars. One showing the progress of the batch and the other showing the progress of the current file being converted.

The conversion happens directly, there are no intermediate formats generated. There`s a windows explorer like display integrated to the display interface. You could actually drag & drop files from the directory structured view too. Conversion to MP3 uses the LAME encoder, reputedly the best encoder for converting to MP3 formats. This is a good tool for the music aficionados, like most of us, and worth keeping handy for various functions we need. The fact that it is also a free tool, adds to the charm of course! You would be able to search, add and manage files to convert with ease with this tool.

Quite brilliant - and free!
Much faster than other programs I have used and with plenty of options to achieve the desired quality/filesize.
OK - it doesn`t prompt you to set a valid output folder first, but that`s a small matter compared to everything else that it offers.

Does just what it says.

This is a great little program, of course I extracted it form the EXE as to not have to install it...but it really is a great little program with all it says it has...plus it was a pleasant surprise to see that you could convert multiple files at once.

I had difficulty using this at first, and experienced the same issue as another user (It couldn`t detect the output folder/directory. Followed the same steps and made the same adjustments in settings, and all was GREAT!! Thanks! : )

I had difficulty using this at first. (It couldn`t detect the output folder/directory/whatever). I went into settings and clicked the box that said let output be the same as input. Then it seemed to work fine. Other than this usability blip, not bad.

Brilliant! I`m an idiot user and I found this program so simple to use. I was just looking for a simple WMA to WAV converter - no bells and whistles and this suited my purposes 110%. Thanks!

I highly recommend this program. Installation was easy and it worked as advertised. Any complaints about ease-of-use are from folks who need a 50-page manual to figure things out.

Does not convert mp3 or wma to wav - just creates empty files. Useless.

It complains that it can`t find its default output folder, and isn`t smart enough to ask if you want to create it. When I tried to convert an mp3 to wav, nothing happened. I selected the desired mp3 file, clicked Open, and nada. Tried it a couple of times, with the same result. Uninstalled about 2 minutes after installing. Don`t waste your time with this one.

It has a voice stamp on it until you register it tho...so it`s not really free.

Downloaded it, installed it, hit the button to convert - nothing happened. No technical assistance, no help function, no idea why. So, uninstalling. Too bad.

I have to say that this is a really good program. If the title of the file is very long, it does get cut off, but that`s a minor complaint in an otherwise fine product.

Very simple to use at the same time delivering the goods. Used the WMA to MP3 utility after ripping CD`s to play on newly purchased music center that would only recognize MP3 audio files. So easy and more than satisfied.

Simple, quick. Works with Vista where several others had problems. Not incredibly slick, but hey, it`s free.
